Professional
info
I am currently an orthopaedic and trauma surgeon working with the Malaysian Ministry of Health.
While I am actively involved in treating patients with all types of bone and joint diseases and injuries, my passions are arthroscopic and minimally invasive orthopaedic surgery, sports orthopaedic injuries, replacement of damaged and painful joints, and non-operative treatments of arthritis as well as fractures in elderly patients.
When not operating or seeing patients in my clinic , I enjoy speaking and writing on medical and orthopaedic related topics.
Work
experience
My passion for bone and joint injuries started even before my medical career did - in my fourth year of medical school when I was a member of the surgical society at Nizhny Novgorod.
Nevertheless, upon completing my internship training, I trained in general surgery - gaining experience in abdominal, endocrine, thoracic and neurosurgery before embarking on a career in orthopaedic (bone and joint) surgery.
My career has been shaped by the my senior surgeons and mentors in the orthopaedic and trauma departments of Penang General Hospital, Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim, and the University of Malaya, and to them I am ever grateful.
